Alex Kayser was born in Switzerland in 1949 and his work spans a period of six decades. He lived and worked mainly in New York.
Alex Kayser used the medium of photography to explore what it is like to be human in a time where human experience is increasingly shaped and influenced by numerical parameters and digital media. Serialisation and reflection on the visual medium... itself often are an important thematic aspect of his work. Alex worked with the likes of Sam Wagstaff, Andy Warhol, Georg Maciunas, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, whom all met at Kayser's West Boardway loft, which quickly became a hub for Pop Artists. Kayser's work has been exhibited internationally.
