Alison Dickson was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh 1961, and grew up on the family farm and has lived in Edinburgh for over 20 years.
Landscapes and seascapes, often under weather laden skies, are common themes in her work. Aswell as landscapes and seascapes, Alison creates still life paintings, which mostly feature plants and flowers, it is the simplicity of line ...and colour that are most important.
Alison creates texture by building up layers with paint and collage techniques, working the surface with skewers and knives, anything to hand, creating shifting dynamics within each piece.
Her fist solo Exhibition in her home town of Enniskillen was a huge success. She followed with a solo Exhibition in London. She has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) and also the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) as well as exhibiting work over the UK and Ireland.
