Amaryllis Johnston is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art where she studied Drawing and Painting. Here she taught for some years in Glasgow and later in Strathclyde and now paints from her studio in Argyll. Her paintings are frequently based on the immediate landscape and the dramatic changes of weather and light which this provides. She tends to use mediums such as oil... and mixed media. Amaryllis was the winner of the GSWA Lauder Award in 2005. She is a member of the Paisley Art Institute and has exhibited with the Royal Glasgow Institute, the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours and galleries in the UK, France and USA.
