Amy studied Foundation Art at the Lincoln Art College, it is here where she experimented with materials and finally settled on Textiles. She continued her studies at the University of Lincoln studying Fashion Design, graduating in 2011. After her graduation, she completed a residency in Sweden for a festival, where she worked on designing and making elaborate costumes for t...he dancers of the Carnival.
The development of creating textile designs and her new collection of paintings share similar processes where she builds and develops characters, giving the animals personalities, which truly brings the artwork to life. The background in costume production is reflected in her stunning artworks. This creative role and her love of wildlife, lead Amy to evolve an individual and quirky style, in which she cultivates wildlife through her artworks. Amy uses an illustrative style to capture the unique personalities of each depicted character. Her use of vibrant colours for each personality immediately catch your eye against the neutral Farrow and Ball colour backgrounds. The bold bitumen outlines give the work a real punch of contrast. Her magical, cheeky creatures offer her viewers a taste of paradise.
Now a full time artist, Amy has a studio in Bletchley, and already has a strong following of collectors. Her work can be found in galleries across the UK and at special events such as Grand Designs Live, Spring Fair and The Affordable Art Fairs.
