Andrei Protsouk was born in the Ukraine in 1961 and graduated from the Lugansk State School of Fine Art in 1981. He then continued his studies at the Repine Academy of Fine Arts in Russia. Protsouk graduated at the top of his Master’s degree and earned the “Lenin’s Student Stipend” as well as the “Red Diploma,” the most awarded completion for the diploma in Russia at the time. ...His drawings were constantly being confiscated by the Soviets to be exhibited in the school’s museum for being the school’s most exemplar work; some hang in the academy to this day.
Andrei Protsouk and friends travelled to the USA with hopes of a new start in 1992, his artworks then represented harsh Soviet times, prosecution of artists and Soviet living conditions. Andrei represented these themes through the use of heavy textures, dark colors and somber subjects. After recieving possitive feedback of his work, he decided to move his family to the United States in 1994. He currently resides in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania has his own studio and gallery space off Main Street where he lives with his family. He has been represented in many galleries across the United States, Europe, New Zealand and Japan. He has exhibited throughout the world with corporate clients including Coca Cola, Johnnie Walker Expo Co and Imperial Cosmetics. Protsouk's work also appears in private collections throughout the world including that of President George W Bush. His works are becoming extremely collectable for the serious art investor/buyer.
