Andrew Fish artwork for sale and artist biography

Andrew Fish was born in Vermont in 1972 and now lives and works in Boston. Fish studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Middlebury College studying Art History.

While studying in New York he worked as an art handler at various alternative and commercial art galleries in the 1990s. He studied under artists Marilyn Minter, Don

Through his work, Fish calls out and recasts the ephemeral nature of image-making driven by emerging technologies, and provokes introspection on how digital media is shifting the relationship of viewers and makers of images to the images themselves. His work also explores the psychological aspect of the ubiquitous nature of technology and how it has become a defining attribute of the time we live in.

He teaches at Lesley University’s College of Art and Design and is Visiting Lecturer at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

He is the recipient of a NY Studio School Award, a Somerville Arts Council grant, a Contemporary Arts Center-Woodside Award, and the Curators Choice Award from the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition.

He has exhibited across the USA but mostly in Boston and New York,

His work has been featured and sold via the Museum of Fine Arts- Boston's juried selection for its summer auction, the annual MassArt auction, The Attleboro Museum, and the Danforth Art Museum.
