Observational drawing is the starting point for Ann’s stencil-based paintings and original prints. Her images combine an eye for detail with an imaginative interpretation.
Her subject matter includes recent travels to Asia, collections of objects and selected moments from everyday activities. Filling her sketch book with studies and drawings daily, themes for her artwork... include textiles, animals, stories and childhood memories.
From 1995 – 1999 Ann studied at Yale College and Glyndwr University obtaining a First Class Honours in Design. She specialised in illustration through drawing and printmaking.
Ann now works from her studio in Kent. She is a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy and is represented in North Wales by Ffin y Parc Gallery, Llanwrst.
Ann has also worked as an Artist in Residence for two years at Chester Zoo, making works based on the Aquarium, the Twilight Zone and the gardens. Residencies continue to form an important part of her practice along with commissioned work for corporate and private collections.
