Artist Anton Dolders hails from an area of Liverpool called Sefton, which is characterised by rural, urban and coastal features which has provided inspiration for his drawings and paintings of architecture, land and waterscapes from a young age.
Achieving a colour’s readiness for application through mixing brings Anton immense joy. He uses mainly acrylic, oil, pencils, p...astel and charcoal but likes to explore the use of other materials encountered whilst travelling. He started drawing and painting forty two years ago at the age of four when he used mainly powder paint and crayons. Reception of a ‘paint-by-numbers’ set slightly later on gave him the opportunity to experiment with mixing colours from thicker paint.
Anton seeks out and locates the subjects that he paints and the adventures this brings and the people he meets along the way inspire and motivate his passion. He feels that he can rely on art to take him places and keep him venturing outdoors where many of his preliminary and compositional drawings are implemented.
