Tim Cotterill, also known as Frogman, was born in Leicester, England, in 1950. He left school at the age of fifteen to complete a six year engineering apprenticeship. Intrigued with metalworking, Tim created radical wheeled vehicles and metal sculptures of animals and birds during the '70s and '80s. Frogman's childhood adventures in the woods and streams of the English coun...tryside are undoubtably very influential in Tim Cotterill's development as an artist. His original steel, bronze and gold bird and animal sculptures are in art collections thoughout the world. Frogman emigrated to California in 1990, and started designing his now famous bronze frogs whilst living in a rented 4 car garage in Venice Beach. He has since devoted himself solely to the creation of his unique bronze sculptures. His happy personality and colourful sculptures have captivated a diverse range of collectors, many of whom remark on the frogs’ incredibly lifelike facial expressions. Tim Cotterill's work is now represented in fine art galleries world-wide. His work was well received through private commission, exhibitions, galleries and Sotheby’s world renown auction house in London. The artist has a community of Frogman collectors, who are eagerly awaits the release of each new sculpture that Tim creates, joined by their appreciation of his creativity and craftsmanship.
