Jake studied at Bournemouth College of Art & design. In 1987 he graduated from Brighton Polytechnic, and after a spell in industry, became a full time professional artist in 1993.
Jake exhibits widely in the South of England and in 2004 was a finalist in the Daily Mail’s ‘ Not the Turner Prize’ competition, and successfully exhibited in the Mall Galleries in London. ...In 2007 Jake’s work was selected for the Royal Society of British Artists exhibition in London and from the beginning of 2008 he has been contributing articles about his painting style for The Artist magazine. In 2009 he won the prestigious St. Cuthberts Mill Award for the best water colour painting at the Society of Equestrian Artists annual exhibition in the Mall galleries, London.
Inspired by light and movement Jake’s paintings are reflections of the world around him. As well as exhibitions he has undertaken many fine art commissions for individuals and notable organisations including the National Trust.
In addition to his work, he runs workshops from his studio in Dorset.
