Artist Biography - Kerry Fox

Kerry Fox lives and works in Beningbrough, North Yorkshire. She moved back to Yorkshire in 2012 after spending 15 years living in Brighton.

She paints a spontaneous expression of life and events that have been shaped by the lived experience and the journeys of emotion, attitude, and bureaucracy.
After spending nearly 18 years working in special needs and disability ei
...ther through supporting parents, speaking at conferences and through local and national charities she returned to painting at the end of 2015.

She began to show and sell her work in 2016 in York.

Each of her paintings have no predetermined outcome other than the expression itself, the result rests upon the process of application, images hidden by tissue paper and reliant on bleach to allow it to take its form before being worked on again applying several layers or images that are painted out with emulsion or acrylic and left to dry before being blasted by a garden hose to reveal what lies beneath.

Peeling layers, mark making, scratching and over painting all figure in her work to convey her story.
