Mike Edwards is one of the pioneers of contemporary Typographic Art – creating his first ‘readable’ visual images from text back in 2004. Mike’s pieces draw inspiration from contemporary media, art history, Pop Art, classical painting and Rock and Roll. He has created a large number of typographic prints featuring many different celebrities, including Kate Moss, Pete Doherty..., Kate Bush, Jay Z, Keith Richards and Marilyn Monroe. His unique style of art makes him recognisable for his work, as he takes a different and unique approach by using musicians lyrics to create the image of the musician themselves. Edwards is a very talented and current artist that we are proud to be representing here at The Contemporary.
