Sheila has had a lifelong passion for drawing and painting. She enrolled at Glasgow School of Art and studied there from 2003 - 2006. She then began marketing her work professionally in 2007 and her art career has grown from strength to strength since that time. Now a full time working artist Sheila resides in Scotland, working from her studio in East Renfrewshire.
Sheila’s style of painting is contemporary - demonstrating a love for colour and texture. Whether working on studio still life's or on landscapes inspired by the Scottish landscape, her work is bold, carefully composed and full of vibrant colour and light.
Her landscapes are inspired by frequent visits to the West Coast, Highlands and Islands where she gathers her source material. Back in her studio, Sheila's paintings capture these quaint rural cottages, glimmering beaches and striking Scottish landscapes which she is so well known and loved for. Scenes are depicted with emphasis on realism and attention to detail combined with more abstract brush strokes.
Sheila is represented by numerous galleries around Scotland and those further afield in the UK also. Sheila has paintings hanging in the Scottish Parliament Building and her work has been shown on the BBC One Show Summer Exhibition. Her work was also shortlisted for the Ken Bromley Cover Competition 2017 and 2018.
Many of Sheila's paintings are reproduced as limited edition fine art prints available on request.
