The original megacity: home to the Queen, the West End, red phone boxes and black taxis. Of course, I’m talking about the one and only – London.
The capital of England is famed for its history and style. Founded by the Romans in 50 AD, this city progressed to have a colourful history. Now, it is one of the most diverse cities in the world, boasting over 300 different spoken languages. There are so many iconic elements to this city, for example the tube – whether you love it or hate it, it was the first underground of its kind the world. Politicians mingle in Whitehall’s crowded pubs, whilst tourists head to Trafalgar Square to gaze upon Nelsons column.
London is a leading figure in the world of art – whether that be fashion, film, dance, theatre, fine art or music. This style is something other cities have attempted to embody, replicate and draw inspiration from for centuries.
