City breaks often involve soaking up all the culture different cities have to offer. And for art and culture buffs perhaps the best way to explore a countries culture is through its most exciting art galleries and museums. (That's obviously in addition to trying all the wine bars and restaurants...)
Whilst we can't always enjoy that jet-set lifestyle we can keep up to date with the latest news and exhibitions through following these institutions Instagram accounts. Instagram is a great way of getting a behind the scenes look at some of the latest and most exciting exhibition developments, shows and events.
From Asian art to sculpture gardens we’ve listed some of the best international galleries that any art lover should be following.
This iconic Parisian museum is located at the heart of Paris on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. The building itself is over a 100 years old and home to over 40 extravagant cultural events a year drawing in an international audience of over 2 million annually.

Victoria Miro opened her gallery in Mayfair during 1985. Since then, the gallery has quickly built a reputation for showcasing the work of some of the world's most exciting international artists. She now represents over 40 artists and has two exhibition spaces in London, as well as one in Venice.

Part of the Guggenheim foundation, this museum is situated in Bilbao, Spain. The museum's stunning and bizarre architecture houses contemporary exhibitions, which have paved the way for the regeneration of this port city as a Spanish cultural hub.
The work presented by the gallery largely consists of large scale, site-specific works and installations by living artists, as well as housing a range of 20th century artworks.

This national art museum and sculpture garden is located in Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo in the Netherlands. Founded in 1938, the museum is home to masterpieces from Van Gogh to Mondrian, as well as one of the largest sculpture gardens in Europe.

Since opening in 1990, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía has been the centre of Spain’s modern and contemporary art.

This contemporary art museum is located in Helsinki, Finland. Part of Finland's National Gallery, their exhibitions celebrate art of the now.
The building itself is a work of art; designed by Architect Steven Holl, the building uses materials and textures to maximise the effect of light at different times of the day. Their Instagram account is perfect for keeping up to date with the latest in contemporary art and discovering a harmonious combination of art and architecture.

Whilst not being a national museum, like many of the others named on this list, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is Britain's first, and without a doubt finest sculpture park.
Founded in 1977, it is the largest of its kind throughout Europe and provides visitors with up close and personal views of incredible large scale work for the likes of Barbara Hepworth, Ai Weiwei, Henry Moore and Anthony Caro in the beautiful surrounding parkland.
