We are ArtsHaus Limited (company number 10869664) and our registered address is 112 Grove Lane, Hale, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 8LS. We are not an art sales agency or online gallery. We are the providers of our website ( - the "Website"), products, and services (collectively, “Services"). It is our “Sellers” (which includes galleries, studios and dealers) that list the “Goods” i.e. artwork for you to view.

At ArtsHaus we recognise that privacy is important and we are committed to protecting your privacy. To make clear how we protect your privacy we provide this Privacy Policy (referred to as the "Policy") explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. Please read this Policy carefully. By using this Website and our Services in general, you are agreeing and consenting to the processing of your data as set out below. This Policy operates in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions of use for our Services and the Terms and Conditions of Seller Membership.

This Policy only relates to the personal information that we collect about you from use of our Services or from third parties such as social media companies. It does not relate to information about Goods or Artists provided to us by our Sellers. If you are an Artist and have a query about information relating to your artwork or biography on the Website, please contact the Seller representing your work directly or alternatively contact us at customersupport@artshaus.co.uk.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you give us: We collect the information that you give to us when using our Services. If you choose to fill in a contact form on the Website, you will be asked to provide information about yourself, including your name, email address and phone number where appropriate. At that time, we may also collate the details of the Goods you are interested in. We will also collect information that you provide to us when you register as an ArtsHaus user or when you correspond with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise.

Information we collect about you: This is different to "information you give us" because it relates to technical data that we collect. We may automatically collect certain information about how you access or use our Services; including Internet browser, operating system, device and application identifiers, IP address and geo-location information, access times and dates, referring and exit pages and URLs, clickstream data, search terms, pages viewed, time spent on pages, bounce rate and login frequency. When you send emails or other communications through our Services, we may retain those communications in order to process your enquiries, respond to your requests and improve our Services.

We may collect information through the use of cookies, web beacons and similar technologies. These technologies help us to operate, improve and customise our Services, Content and marketing, for example, by helping us to better understand how Users access and engage with our Services, Content, emails and ads. The information we collect helps us to operate, improve, protect, and customise our Services, and to develop new Services.   • to make sure that you receive the benefit of the ArtsHaus Services. This will include transferring your enquiry to a Seller so that they can respond to your enquiry;
  • to facilitate your communications with us or other Users/Sellers on your behalf;

2) Register Users:

  • to provide you with the benefit of services for registered Users only;
  • to develop and display more customised Content and ads to you on or off our Services;
  • to provide alerts to you of new artwork marketed on our Website that meets your search queries;

3) General Services use:

  • to provide our Services to you, including new Services we develop later;
  • to administer our Services and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;
  • to understand how you use and interact with our Services and Content, and the products, services, and Content of others;
  • to conduct reviews that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Services;
  • to develop and display more customised Content and ads to you on or off our Services;
  • to ensure that Content from our Services is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;
  • to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms of Use or any other ArtsHaus policies or agreements with Users;
  • as part of our efforts to keep our Services safe and secure;
  • to promote and maintain a trusted, safer, and more reliable environment on our Services, for example, to help detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, conduct investigations or risk assessments, or verify actions taken by you or associated with your account;

  • to contact you by any means authorised by you in order to address issues with your account or use of our Services, collect fees, send you updates about our Services or policies, or for other purposes permitted by law.

1) Enquiries to our Sellers or Us:

  • to provide our Services to you, including new Services we develop later;

2) Register Users:

  • to provide our Services to you, including new Services we develop later;

  • to gain information about the use of our Services and any improvements that can be made as well as providing advertising space to our Sellers and third parties;

4) Communications:

  • to ensure your queries are addressed.

Marketing & Communications

As stated above, sometimes we may use your personal information to provide marketing messages to you or allow us or third parties to communicate with you on third party services. We will always seek your consent before doing so and you can opt out of marketing and other communications at any time by contacting us on customersupport@artshaus.co.uk. You can always make use of the Site without having to agree to marketing. The types of activities which we may undertake include:

  • contacting you by any means authorised by you in order to send you marketing communications, promotional messages, and offers about our Services and Contents, and the products, services, and Content of others.
  • contacting you to facilitate your participation in contests, sweepstakes or other promotional events sponsored or conducted by us or by others in conjunction with us;

We provide registered Users with settings on our Services to control whether they receive certain communications from us. If you do not want to receive marketing email from us, you can unsubscribe by following the unsubscribe link in the email you received, changing your preferences in your profile and account settings (if you have registered for an ArtsHaus account) or contacting us on customersupport@artshaus.co.uk.

Under this Policy, "Personal Information" means information that by itself can be used to identify or contact a specific person (for example, a person’s name, email address, postal address or phone number), and Personal Information does not include information that has been aggregated or made anonymous so that by itself, it no longer identifies and can no longer reasonably be used to contact a specific person. We will only share your Personal Information with others in the ways described in this Policy, or otherwise with your prior consent.

We may share with individuals, third parties or Sellers certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of Users on the site, or how many Users have viewed a profile or clicked on a particular item. Such information will never identify you individually.

User Communications:

Our Services may include features, such as messaging tools and email addresses hosted on our Services, that enable you to contact and communicate with other Sellers. For example, when a Seller lists Goods on our Services, our Services may enable you to contact them about that item or about other items they may have available. When you use our Services to contact the Seller or any other User, they may obtain Personal Information such as your name or email address. Please note that other Sellers may have their own privacy policies that apply to their use of that information, and you may wish to consult them about their policies before sharing information. As mentioned, this Policy does not apply to any entity that we do not own or control, or to any person that we do not employ or manage, and we are not responsible for their privacy policies or practices.

Legal Purposes:

We may share Personal Information with third parties outside of ArtsHaus to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of ArtsHaus, its Users or the public, as required or permitted by law.

Acquisition or Merger:

If our business is sold or merged, or if we sell or buy any business or assets, your Personal Information may be one of the assets transferred to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets. We will make sure that any such transfer is done in a secure way.

We will not otherwise disclose, sell or distribute your information to any third party without your permission unless we are required to do so by law or to obtain professional advice. We will retain your information for as long as is reasonable and necessary and no longer than permitted by law.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY
