I value Ikon as a place where I can see contempory art .The staff are friendly , helpful and make the visitor feel valued and welcome .Good cafe for lunch or just a coffee .The building and the way it has been modified is great and the general atmosphere at Ikon is just fab .Good bookshop ..T

we always come to the icon gallery. Some exhibitions are hit and miss (but that's art for you), but most are outstanding! The Gallery shows modern art rotating artists on a regular basis. Your enjoyment will depend on whether you like the displays at the time you visit. We very much liked one of the artists but not so much the other. The staff in the Gallery were very helpful and explained what the artists were all about. They definitely made a difference to our visit.

The Ikon is a fantastic cutting-edge gallery and has been for 60 years. Their varied programme may not always be to my taste, but it's always well curated and often challenging, which I like. Came here to kill time before an event nearby, but ended up losing track of time and having such a great time.We especially enjoyed the exhibition: Start the Press! Where we saw Hassebah Ali working with the most biggest Lino press I’ve ever seen. Apparently the gallery had to disassemble and rebuild the parts for its transportation. How do I know this? With the lovely courtesy of Hasna, one of the staff there who, with her charismatic friendliness and knowledge, enhanced our perception of this exhibition. The overall exhibition was beautifully designed to make interaction with the artist easy and open, and I must applaud all who were part of this project!

Interesting building. Not a big gallery, so it would not take you long to walk around. Small contemporary art displays. Nice little cafe and cute shop which sells lots of art books. Free entry.
