Most of the rooms were empty. Admission is free, otherwise, for our taste, it would not be worth it.

Lots of paintings, original sculptures, free entrance. That's good, because it would be a shame to pay for a ticket. Large exhibition areas, contemporary art incomprehensible to laymen and a gift shop

The museum is in a building that alone is worth a visit. Part of the building is dedicated to Francis Bacon with the reconstruction of his studio. The museum also exhibits very beautiful paintings by great French masters. Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No … More

Museum with the right size to enjoy all the pieces. The collection has artwork from very famous painters plus a good selection of Irish painters. The highlight of the gallery is the workshop of Francis Bacon, and the multimedia content about his work and his life. Even if you are not a Bacon fan, you learn from his process as a painter.

So much of the original gallery is inaccessible. I can understand that remedial work has to be done, but upstairs and the side galleries all closed at the same time?Still some wonderful art to be seen though, and the Bacon studio always fills me with wonder. The strangest thing was being ticked off by a guard for pointing at a painting.

Okay Art gallery in Dublin. You can find some nice art work but nothing mind blowing. If you are into Impressionism and portraits you can find some nice stuff, nothing extraordinary or inviting. There’s a soul missing in the gallery and the art work yeah very much mediocre. Nothing makes you appeal to return again! Good thing, it’s very quiet ???? and peaceful

Awesome In a very littoral sense. Love the Bacon exhibition, gives great insight. Love the main exhibition, especially the balance of male/female artists. Will be returning to Dublin soon just to see the Warhol that is being hung at the moment.

fav art museum in dublin! the permanent collection is small but engaging and easy to enjoy. they even had monet and manet pieces. also loved the we can can can exhibition, really cool and eye opening. the facilities were good, with a cafe shop and coat room downstairs. the only bummer is that the andy warhol exhibition is 20 euros, an inaccessible ticket price (even if it’s warhol..)

I’ve loved the Hugh Lane since first visiting it decades ago. The Harry Clarke window “The Eve of St.Agnes” never fails to astound me. It’s such a beautiful gallery and a real source of pride for the North of the city. Thank you Sir Hugh for your passion and vision. Dublin will always be grateful to you.

Went to visit the Andy Warhol art exhibition in the Hugh Lane Gallery, and I must say it was quite an interesting exhibition. Originally the inside of the building used to be white, but now it’s painted black and your able to visit the gallery for free, unless there is a famous artist on display, then you must pay an entry fee.
