Consistently improving have enjoyed visiting again and again. Staff are impeccably mannered and seem genuinely interested in your experience as a visitor. Cinema programming positively eclectic. Print studio facilities and staff deserve more recognition as both superb. Shop is beautifully curated and box office staff helpful, chatty and friendly.Learning spaces thoughtfully designed and programmed public events wide ranging in terms of activities and abilities whilst delivery and materials are of high quality. Exhibition runs in galleries are so different from one contemporary artist/group to the next and the adjacent reflective program. offers visitors opportunity to consider the work. Dca is an asset to the city.

Went to the cinema yesterday visually and audibly lovely, only issue was the seats. I'm not exactly big but the seats were too narrow for me. This was cinema 1 so not sure what cinema 2 is like. The cupholders were pushing into my legs and the seats are narrow. I couldn't sit in there for very long and wouldn't want to go back again because of this. Anyone slightly bigger than me would struggle to sit here and because of this I'm unable to bring my partner here.

Went here with a friend who is interested in putting his art on canvas and getting better about controlling colors and contrast so the photos look simular to photos on a screen. The staff was extremely helpful. Took us on a tour of their space for photography and printing. Had amazing machines that they said they would be happy to teach him about. They were even open to potentially getting new types of printer ink for him to try and add to his photos once he was ready. The staff was super helpful and clearly excited about what they were doing and that someone else wanted to get involved. They had two projects on display and I must say I am not someone who "gets art," but no one made me feel weird or was acting snooty. Just asked if I had questions which made me comfortable to just have a look around without the pressure.

Shame that the building is better than the art work. If you think that much contemporary art is vapid then be mindful that a trip here is unlikely to change your mind. The café, however, is probably worth the trip! Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No … More

Probably overall one of the best restaurants in Dundee, for location, menu, and drink choice. Tasty options for all diets, although vegan ones tends to be on the smaller side. Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes … More

Date of visit: 28 December 2023.Dundee Contemporary Arts Center is a fantastic place to spend an evening, with a stylish restaurant serving good food and modern, comfortable cinema showing international and non-mainstream films. We made a reservation for the restaurant and purchased our movie tickets (for Japanese film "The Boy and the Heron") in advance. Although we arrived a little early, we were shown to our table immediately. The service was top-notch, and the food was delicious. The BBQ pulled beef was cooked to perfection -- the meat was tender with a nice smoky flavor, and was accompanied by mozzarella flat bread and salad. The Mezze Plate, meanwhile, ordered by the other member of my party, came with a range of vegetable and fruit items and diverse flavours, with the cauliflower fritters being particularly highly praised. The cinema had large comfortable chairs, not to mention good picture and sound quality. The small size of the hall meant it had a more intimate feel than the large multiplexes, and it was clean and well-maintained.The DCA Center comes highly recommended for dining and entertainment, and arguably is one of the jewels in Dundee's ongoing process of revitalisation and regeneration.

Great place to catch a film, especially independent ones in a relaxing and clean environment. Also a great place to eat - frequent this place for lunches and it is always busy and the food is very fresh and tasty. Service can sometimes take longer than expected, but this can be worth it for the food and extra time to chat.

I am a regular at the DCA for their art exhibitions which are always well curated and free!On this occasion, I wanted to write a review concerning the Ciné Sunday experience that the DCA has to offer. My kids really wanted to see the new Wonka film. After looking at prices at the other well-known Cinema chains in Dundee, my wife and I were shocked at exactly how much this was going to cost. We simply could not afford it! Before giving up on the idea, I checked the DCA for prices and saw that Wonka was on in their Ciné Sunday experience. Their was a claimants option for those families who were on benefits which we were able to use. So for under a tenner each, we were able to get to see the film, while also enjoying a hot tea or coffee (and hot chocolates for the kids) and a hot morning roll (egg or bacon) included in the price. I will add that we would have been nearly twenty pounds extra at the other cinemas, just for the tickets! The cinema was very clean and comfortable, and it felt like a real treat without breaking the bank. The staff who served us and attended the cinema were all lovely. Recommended. I hope we can come back again sometime.

First time eating here I have been a number of times before normally for the cinema which is excellent. The food came and I found the cod cheeks overcooked and lacking in punch, the feather blade on the other hand was excellent if not very slightly over seasoned, for dessert the cherry tiramisu was ok nothing special..... All in all the food was good value for money but could very easily be improved.
