I've been there today for the Apollo exhibition. Add Williamson Art Gallery to your regular list of online updates as this small but special art venue deserves better promotion donations & funding as theres so much stuff happens there each year that locals & visitors would enjoy if it was better promoted! Also, the lemon drizzle cake in the cafè is bliss ????

An excellent display of the outstanding Apollo Remastered images. We were fortunate to be able to hear the talk by Andy Saunders, who was responsible for re-processing the images for the display and associated book.Particularly impressed by the way the gallery has added a series of questions for children to consider as they look at the pictures.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Williamson Art Gallery. The car park made it really easy for my father to access in his car. The exhibition about the space photographs was really thought provoking and inspiring.I enjoyed the collection of photographs from the Wirral Art Society. I was really impressed by how much talent is on the Wirral for such a small peninsula. The paintings were witty and it was great to see images of local places such as New Brighton and Snowdonia.I also enjoyed the exhibition with the model boats. It was interesting to see the evolution of Mersey Ferries and read about how these were repurposed in times of conflict.I thought the staff were really helpful and friendly. I took the time to visit the bookshop on the way out which contained a unique collection of local interest books. I picked up 4 books that I thought looked really interesting including one about Tranmere Rovers’ fight to return to the football league!

I love the lightness of this gallery, so the works are shown with the respect they deserve. The present exhibition, Worse Album Covers, is great fun. There is a ramp at the entrance, a car park and a cafe staffed by volunteers. There is a book shop, and sales of artisan works. It is open Wednesday and Thursday 10:30am - 5pm; Friday 10:30am - 9pm, and Saturday 10am - 4:30pm.

Great modern exhibitions, check out the 'Worst Album cover', hilarious & such fun. What were the artists thinking? A sign of the times. Lovely displays from some of the finest artists. The current Light beyond exhibition transports you into a world of pure imagination in real time. Ship lovers of the Mersey, an exhibition for you & the shock reality of poverty, deprivation & homelessness captured through a lens - amazing.Beautiful old building enveloping you with a warm embrace as you walk through the doors. Cafe with baked goods and warm brews. Perfect few hours to enjoy the splendor and step away from the hustle & bustle of modern life beyond the doors.

I went particularly to see the exhibition Outsiders by Marc Davenant, but took the opportunity to go through all the exhibition halls. Lovely art gallery and museum, quite compact. The cafe was great, staff helful and pleasant, and the food tasty and not overpriced.Although entry to the gallery and museum is free, do please make a donation if you are able to.
