Excellent museum that isn’t too large. Our 3 boys: 8, 6 & 3 had a great time. The T Rex was wonderful!

Came here on the shaun the sheep trail, and I didn't even know that this gallery was here. Had my bike with me, so I couldn't see inside the gallery. Will definitely be back to look inside

Fantastic treasure in heart of Newcastle. One of our favourite places pre Pandemic, and lovely to see going strong. Today recommend the Glacier and Street scientists, and the great value Christmas Ciabatta. And as always great standing exhibitions on Hadrian's wall, Egypt, Wildlife and of course lovely helpful staff.

My daughter Esme and so enjoyed our visit to the Hancock Gallery today. Such a beautiful venue, easily accessible and displaying an incredibly diverse selection of art - if only I was more well off! Will definitely visit again when I am down in Sassenachland.

Absolute Gem of a place, but I would have come here just to talk to the Gallery Manager, Chris Morgan. What a great guy. Because it wasn't busy we were able to talk about Art and Art galleries for a good half hour. He has hosted exhibitions abroad and is very knowledgable; just great to talk to.But I should also mention the Art as obviously that's what I went for. Exhibited in 6 rooms across three floors of this Georgian House, I think there something for everyone here. If you like Acrylic Screenprint "Pop Art" then you'll be drawn to Dan Parry-Jones exhibition on the Ground Floor. My personal favourites were the "Oil on Canvas" portraits of Mark Demsteader and the contrasting rather stark and gritty works of Sam Wood (think flat caps), both on the first floor.Being an old building there's no disabled access to upstairs areas, however, in conversation with Chris, he said he was prepared to bring art works down to the individual by prior arrangement. As with the Biscuit Factory Art Gallery nearby, I think it's a privilege to be able to go and see Art for free, particularly given these are commercially run galleries.

A lovely gallery in the perfect location to pop in for a cuppa and to admire some art. I was greeted by Chris who was warm and welcoming, and very knowledgable about the artwork and artists featured. The gallery is in a beautiful old townhouse building, and the overall environment is relaxed and friendly. Easy parking right outside. Can't wait to come back!

Lovely local gallery, in a gorgeous old town house. Chris really knows what he is talking about and helped me engage with the art and artists in more depth. The building is flooded with natural light and each floor reveals more beautiful art.

It is rather a small gallery and they mostly have pop or contemporary art, and they are quite generic, but once in a while, some of the art is special. I suppose depends on which artists' artworks they display. Also fortunately, it’s free and there’s like three or four floors so you can spend an excessive amount of time here. If you’re gonna go inside the first floor, you may see some art products, but nothing catches my eye. However, it’s still not too bad of a gallery considering and there’s so little of them in Newcastle.
