Deborah Grice MA RCA is a British landscape painter and printmaker. She graduated from Glasgow School of Art and The Royal College of Art, London.
Deborah paints raw, wild landscapes and the weather therein. Her paintings are metaphysical in nature – representing vastness and 'otherness'. She produces oils on canvas, limited edition prints and works on paper.
Her... oil paintings are rendered in a traditional manner with oil paint on canvas; however, with the introduction of geometric lines, there is an interesting sense of perspective added, which makes them more forward looking and contemporary. The use of geometric lines was introduced as a visual device in 2008 when Deborah gained her Private Pilots License. "Through the use of navigational charts for my cross country flights I became interested in making the invisible, visible. After a decade of assimilating ideas and thoughts, the lines have also begun alluding to aspects of ‘vision’: perception, meditation, escapism and the physicality of looking."
