Louise is a professional artist inspired by nature, especially animals and landscapes.
She aims to create artworks that people can connect with and enable her viewers to feel a positive connection between art and nature. Mainly, she wants to make her viewers smile.
Born and raised in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Louise was lucky enough to have a childhood fille...d with many adventures into the countryside and coastal areas where her parents introduced her to the amazing world of nature. She spent many hours walking through woodlands watching the wildlife or playing in the streams and rivers, or long sunny days at the coast exploring the rock pool and caves.
Louise’s childhood fondness of nature grew with her and is the driving force behind her artistic practice, with her career in art starting in 1991, shortly after leaving Art College at the age of 20. She had a small craft stall in her local shopping centre where she sold artwork. In 2001, when her daughter was born, she had a shift in focus and she moved into a home studio, where she continued to create natural pieces using a variety of mediums.
Her latest work is created out of alcoholic ink and sulphate, which creates an explosion of shapes and colours that are inspired by the landscapes that surround her. She loves working with this medium, as she sees the ink as having a mind of its own, giving her work an element of chance and freedom.
The ink provides a variety of vibrant colours and displays a free flowing character, which allows Louise to create spectacular and eye catching pieces of artwork that will brighten up any house or office, even on a dull and damp English Day. Her work is fuelled by positivity and joy, something she wishes to bring to the lives of others through her work.
