Nick Howard is a London-based photographer but is often to be found either in St Catherine's, Bath, or in Yorkshire.
Growing up in the iconic Castle Howard, a Baroque palace which attracts more than 200,000 visitors each year, is something of which only a handful of people can boast.
But photographer Nick Howard can: he grew up among the grand, formal reception ro...oms of Vanburgh’s architectural masterpiece, where works by Gainsborough and Holbein adorn the walls.
The series of photographs presented here 'To Die For' consists of 15 photographs taken in just 90 minutes on one still, atmospheric morning around the Castle Howard estate.
He recalled, 'A performance began: the rays touched the mist, the mist ran to hide in the shadows, spiralling every shade of orange and yellow out of its devious greyness, the shadows leapt from obscurity to reveal places everywhere that live their lives as mundane corners for 364 days of the year in their one morning of absolute splendour
Nick Howard, is internationally recognised for his photography, and has focused on portrait work as well as landscapes with subjects including artists Grayson Perry and Antony Gormley.
