Susanne Winter studied art in her early twenties at University and moved to London where she worked for many years in interior design companies producing one off hand-painted pieces.
Over the years she has exhibited in many London galleries and has been involved with the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea and the wider thriving London artistic community.
Susanne is ...now based in Guildford where she has her studio. She takes her paints with her everywhere though and obsessively sketches and paints - resulting in a huge collection of sketches and drawings which her final pieces are inspired by.
"My work is based on the properties of colour, the effects generated by movement which then creates the mood and the energy. The goal of my work is to evoke emotions felt when we experience nature. The ever-changing land and seascapes constantly evolving with light and reflection as its inspiration.
The development of each painting rests in the layering process using brush and palette knife. I use a vibrant palette balanced with mellow softness. Sketches and colour studies are made on location which lead to strong spontaneous work in my studio."
